"From the depths of the Sarkash Forest, you are trying to do something of yourself before the inevitable Apocalypse by working as lumberjacks and frontiersmen for the Shadow King’s Umberoyal Northwest Company.

You've just helped cut down a grove of Pinecoals, black trees prized for their long burning properties. Draveurs have come to collect the fruit of your labor and carry it down a river so fast that it withstands the frost of this harsh winter.

Now you must return to your camp. It is guarded by the youngest of your expedition, Nitram. You are ill-equipped because the outward journey required several detours to find a place to cross the river. You have lost several companions and a lot of equipment.

Clawonimbus clouds darken the sky and swarms of Batoads fleeing the northern wind predict a blizzard by Apocalypse’s Approaching Eve. It's gray during the day and, at night, the darkness is pierced by the ominous icefreezing rays of a Purple Moon.

Out of pity for you, the Draveurs hand rations, waterskins and a few handfuls of silver coins in your hands before preparing to roll the great black logs across that infernal river.

By Nechrubel, the one who whispered the Apocalypse and its calendar to Verhu, head of Him... By Nechrubel, that you hope to see your loved ones again before the Apocalypse and would prefer to be in the warmth of Ostesbas, the Company’s town, to celebrate the Eve with them…"

This is a two-part adventure. They can be played separately or together, each as a one-shot or short adventure, but the zine was written so it could also be used as the basis of a campaign, like a mini-setting.

Part 1 is a small procedural hexcrawl with two factions, survival elements and big fight/skirmish at the end. It's strongly suggested to use this minizine with that part.

In Part 2, the party got a flying canoe through a deal with a Devil that will allow them to meet one or many relative for the Apocalypse’s Approaching Eve feast, by flying through the sky at 100mph. There is a mini-game for flying the canoe to the town. The party has many encounters and contests, then players have to come back before dawn with the canoe or their souls are lost.
